Travel Bloggers To Watch In 2017

We love sharing personalised travel tips and writing about our stories at The Brit & The Blonde blog, but we also get most of our inspiration from other travel bloggers! We follow a lot of popular travel bloggers and often come across bloggers that are inspiring, yet not as popular yet. Here are some of those travel bloggers to watch in 2017, for travel tips from all over the world.

Blonde Seashell

Why did you decide to start a travel blog?

I was travelling around and needed a way to stay in touch with my friends and my blog was a way to tell my stories. Only two month ago I decided to take the blogging business more serious. I started writing about what to do and see instead of only writing about my personal daily life. 🙂

What is number one your bucket list?

Definitely the Maldives. I’ve wanted to see those islands ever since I first started working in a travel agency when I was 16 years old. Staying in a water bungalow and jumping in the crystal clear water is my biggest dream and bucket list goal.

What was your worst travel experience?

That’s easy: When I got dengue fever. I heard many bad stories about it, but actually having it was even worse, but it made me more grateful for my life and my health.

Who or what inspires you in your daily life or in your creativity?

Elizabeth Gilberts book “the big magic” is a huge inspiration for me but of course also all the amazing travel bloggers I get to know. They all inspire me in my daily life and push me to achieve even more.

Ready Jess Go

Why did you decide to start a travel blog?

In May 2016, I graduated from university with my bachelor’s degree in journalism, decided to skip my graduation ceremony to spend a week in Colombia with my best friend, then moved to Barcelona for six months. I’ve been writing my whole life, and thought this was an adventure that should be documented.

What is number one your bucket list?

I would love to go to the Maldives–before they sink and nobody can see them anymore. I also really want to see Indonesia and Thailand!

What was your worst travel experience?

I almost couldn’t board the plane when I was going to Spain after Colombia, then when I finally got there I somehow walked myself into a random city, then I was a day late for my hostel reservation because of the time change…but hey, it made for an entertaining blog post. 🙂

Who or what inspires you in your daily life or in your creativity?

I’m inspired by beautiful landscapes and interesting people. I love pushing myself out of my comfort zone and seeing what new adventures I get myself into.

Travel Hippies

Why did you decide to start a travel blog?

The more I traveled to the amazing destinations, the more I was bombarded with the usual set of questions like ‘How?’, ‘When?’ and ‘What?’. This bombarding gave birth to my recently started travel blog travelhippies.in where I write about the beautiful places and my adventures for all curious minds along with the tips to plan and execute their dream travel plans. I have just started it with a few famous Indian destinations and would continue to write about my under construction travel plans and experience in Asia, Europe and may be other five continents too

What is number one your bucket list?

With the most beautiful and secluded beaches, museums and cathedrals, Croatia has topped my travel bucket list. I hope I would strike it off soon and explore the secrets of Croatia.

What was your worst travel experience?

Traveling, after all isn’t a bed of roses. It just like another adventure where you get out of your comfort zone. Mostly, I face all kinds of experience as an adventure. But the worst of all was when all trains in India were cancelled due to a tribal riot in Rajasthan, which had disrupted the railway tracks. I can’t forget the horrifying experience of roaming around all alone at mid-night to find a way to reach back to my hometown. Fortunately, I could catch a trail, which led to my destination after 48 hours. (It actually takes only 14 hours)

Who or what inspires you in your daily life or in your creativity?

I have an intense urge for traveling to new places that compels me to run out into the wild or to some lively city. Even the blogs of the digital nomads like ShivyaNath always inspire me to take up new adventures and take up the less trodden path.

Memories Abroad

Why did you decide to start a travel blog?

Lizzy and I (Eloise) decided to start our blog in 2016 to share our travels and love of different cultures. We were both living in the US as Au Pairs and bonded over how much we felt at home here rather than in our home countries (Germany and Australia) so decided to share this with others along with our travel experiences.

What is number one your bucket list?

Eloise – No. 1 on my bucket list is Greece and the Greek islands. As a child, I would always talk to my Nan about going to see the blue water and white buildings and we plan to go together someday.

Lizzy – To be honest, I always wanted to live in the South, more specifically Georgia, of the US. Now that I have lived here for two years, I know that I belong here. But nonetheless, my No. 1 bucket list item would have to be Australia. I would love to explore the whole country and make my childhood dream of walking up the stairs of the Sydney Opera House come true.

What was your worst travel experience?

Eloise – I would have to say my worst travel experience was when Lizzy and I went to Helen, Georgia. As a whole the trip was great but the first night we got there and were staying in a cabin. We didn’t realize the bathroom facility was a, as I like to call them, long drop. For some reason, Lizzy went first and when she came out and I shone the light around all I could see were spiders. From that day it was bush for us. No way was I facing my greatest fear (Spiders) just to use a smelly toilet.

Lizzy- I have to agree on that one with Eloise, who made me go first. Haha. I thought I’m having my brave Aussie girl with me, who proudly claims to be a country girl, while I grew up in the city never having to deal with spiders. Turns out we are both terrified of spiders. However, I really don’t get why Eloise’s worst travel experience isn’t her 32+ hour flight our Au Pair Agency sent her on when she first came to the States.

Who or what inspires you in your daily life or in your creativity?

Eloise – I have a lot of inspirations. I think my main 3 if I were to narrow it down would have to be my Mum for always showing me anything can be done with some hard work and perseverance. Travel blogger Brooke Saward simply because her travels and travel photos are so inspiring and it always makes me want to go to all the places. My final inspiration I would have to say is Niomi Smart a British YouTuber who has gone above and beyond any other YouTuber I have ever seen, she is an inspiration for character as well as a lifestyle I really admire her.

Lizzy – What inspires me most I would say is a good challenge. People that are trying to tell me, I’m not brave enough to go and fulfill my dreams. Those are the people that usually make me push myself even harder to prove them wrong. It has been teachers, family and also strangers that I met in my life who told me that. I proved them wrong every time. Also family and friends that believe in me have inspired me to always give it my all and make my dreams come true. Most of all, my Mom, Sister and best friend Lara. That have always said “She’ll go her own way and make it happen”. My Dad is pretty much part of the first group that tells you can’t, but I know he is proud and happy when I prove him wrong.
