We’ve done a lot of island hopping during our travels, and have taken numerous flights in Costa Rica to these places. There are so many incredible islands still on our bucket list including 5/6 from this list!

There are thousands of islands around the world, some of them so wild and hostile to man that they remain uninhabited. There are others though that are well worth a visit, and exploring them would be an unforgettable experience.
Palawan has been ranked as the most beautiful island in the world on numerous occasions. It is one of the best tropical islands in Southeast Asia that is famous for its fishing, diving, hiking and beaches. It is also a place well known for watching the spectacle of fireflies in the night sky, with many places offering this experience while you have a meal, or just sit back and relax with a drink.
The Maldives, which are often described as a tropical paradise, are in the Indian Ocean. They have pure white sands and clear blue waters with some amazing marine life. As well as their natural beauty, there is a lot of activities for tourists on the islands, including scuba diving, tours to try home cooked meals, walking tours, snorkelling and a submarine tour.
Whitsunday Islands, Australia
Situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, these islands are off the coast of Queensland, Australia. You can move between the islands to see how different they all can be. For instance, Daydream Island is an oasis set in the middle of the Whitsunday’s, and if often referred to as a slice of heaven. As you can see, it really is a paradise island with so much to do and see.
Seychelles, East Africa
This is a group of 115 islands, many of which are untouched. The white sands and blue waters make them a tropical paradise that has become very popular with honeymooners. There is no end of activities for visitors to the Seychelles, which has made some of them ideal for families too.
Probably one of Greece’s most famous islands, this location has amazing beaches, a volcanic landscape, ancient cities and delicious local foods and wines. There are organised tours by boat and buses, as well as snorkelling excursions, diving and many other things to do. There are also helicopter tours or you can have a try at paragliding if you are brave enough
Perhentian Islands, Malaysia
Found off the northeast coast of Malaysia, these islands, which you can read more about at https://www.timetravelturtle.com/staying-on-perhentian-islands-malaysia/, are renowned for their coral reef and the water sports they offer to tourists. They are an awesome spot for snorkelling, diving boat trips beaches and much more. The variety of accommodation means that tourists can always find something to suit their needs and their budget.
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador
Situated 600 miles of the West coast of South America, you will find that these islands have scenery and wildlife like nothing else anywhere on earth. They are considered to be one of the world’s best destinations for wildlife lovers, who can also take part in bird watching, diving, hiking and snorkelling. Tourists travel from all parts of the world to take advantage of the landscapes and beauty these islands offer.
